But 2Peter and Johnanswered and said to them, "3Whether it is right in the sight of God to giveheed to you ratherthan to God, you be the judge;
for 4we cannotstopspeaking about what we have seen and heard."
When they had threatened them further, they let them go (findingnobasis on which to punish them) 5on account of the people, because they were all6glorifyingGod for what had happened;
for the man was more than fortyyears old on whomthisbmiracle of healing had been performed.
When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reportedall that the chiefpriests and the elders had said to them.
And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with oneaccord and said, "O cLord, it is You who 7MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL25
who 8by the HolySpirit, through the mouth of our fatherDavid Your servant, said, '9WHY DID THE dGENTILESRAGE, AND THE PEOPLESDEVISEFUTILETHINGS?
'10THE KINGS OF THE EARTHeTOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHEREDTOGETHERAGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS f11CHRIST.'
For truly in thiscity there were gatheredtogetheragainst Your holyg12servantJesus, whom You anointed, both13Herod and 14PontiusPilate, along with 15the hGentiles and the peoples of Israel,
to dowhatever Your hand and 16Your purposepredestined to occur.
