So she aleft his garmentbeside her until his mastercamehome.
Then she 1spoke to him bwith thesewords, "cThe Hebrewslave, whom you brought to us, came in to me to makesport of me;
and as I raised my voice and dscreamed, he left his garmentbeside me and fledoutside."
Now when his masterheard the words of his wife, which she spoke to him, saying, "eThis is what your slavedid to me," 2his angerburned.
So Joseph'smastertook him and 3put him into the jail , the placewhere the king'sprisoners were confined; and he was there in the jail .
But 4the LORD was with Joseph and extendedkindness to him, and 5gave him favor in the sight of the chiefjailer .
The chiefjailer6committed to Joseph'sfchargeall the prisonerswho were in the jail ; so that whatever was donethere, he was gresponsible for it.
237The chiefjailer did not superviseanything under hJoseph's chargebecause8the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, 9the LORD made to prosper.
