13
For 1when Godmade the promise to Abraham, since He couldswear by noonegreater, He 2swore by Himself,
14saying, "3I WILL SURELYBLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELYMULTIPLY YOU."
15
And so, 4having patientlywaited, he obtained the promise.
165For menswear by aonegreater than themselves, and with them 6an oath given as confirmation is an end of everydispute.
17bIn the same way God, desiringevenmore to show to 7the heirs of the promise8the unchangeableness of His purpose, cinterposed with an oath,
18so that by twounchangeablethings in which9it is impossible for God to lie, we who have dtakenrefuge would havestrongencouragement to takehold of 10the hopesetbefore us.
19eThis11hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope bothsure and steadfast and one which 12entersfwithin the veil,
2013whereJesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a 14highpriestforeveraccording to the order of Melchizedek.
