1Behold, 1the LORD'Shand is not soshort That it cannotsave ; 2Nor is His earsodull That it cannothear.
2
But your 3iniquities have made a separationbetween you and your God, And your sins have hidden His aface from you so that He does 4not hear.
3
For your 5hands are defiled with blood And your fingers with iniquity ; Your lips have spoken6falsehood, Your tonguemutterswickedness.
47Noonesuesrighteously and 8noonepleadsbhonestly. They 9trust in confusion and speaklies ; They 10conceivemischief and bringforthiniquity.
5
They hatchadders'eggs and 11weave the spider'sweb ; He who eats of their eggsdies, And from that which is crushed a snakebreaksforth.
6
Their webs will not becomeclothing, Nor will they 12cover themselves with their works ; Their 13works are works of iniquity, And an 14act of violence is in their chands.
715Their feetrun to evil, And they hasten to shedinnocentblood ; 16Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, Devastation and destruction are in their highways.
8
They do not know the 17way of peace, And there is 18nojustice in their tracks ; They have made their pathscrooked, 19Whoevertreads on dthem does not knowpeace.
9Therefore20justice is far from us, And righteousness does not overtake us; We 21hope for light, but behold, darkness, For brightness, but we walk in gloom.
10
We 22grope along the wall like blindmen, We grope like those who havenoeyes ; We 23stumble at midday as in the twilight, Among those who are vigorous we are 24like dead men.
11All of us growl like bears, And 25moansadly like doves ; We hope for 26justice, but there is none, For salvation, but it is far from us.
12
For our 27transgressions are multipliedbefore You, And our 28sinsetestify against us; For our transgressions are with us, And fwe know our iniquities :
13Transgressing and 29denying the LORD, And turningaway from our God, Speaking30oppression and revolt, Conceiving in and 31uttering from the heartlyingwords.
1432Justice is turnedback, And 33righteousnessstandsfaraway ; For truth has stumbled in the street, And uprightnesscannotenter.
15
Yes, truth is lacking ; And he who turnsaside from evil34makes himself a prey. Now the LORDsaw, And it was gdispleasing in His sight35that there was nojustice.
16
And He saw that there was 36noman, And was astonished that there was noone to intercede ; Then His 37own armbroughtsalvation to Him, And His righteousnessupheld Him.
17
He put on 38righteousness like a breastplate, And a 39helmet of salvation on His head ; And He put on 40garments of vengeance for clothing And wrapped Himself with 41zeal as a mantle.
1842According to their hdeeds, iso He will repay, Wrath to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies ; To the coastlands He will jmakerecompense.
19
So they will fear the name of the LORD from the 43west And His glory from the 44rising of the sun, For He will 45come like a krushingstream Which the wind of the LORDdrives.
20
"A 46Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who 47turn from transgression in Jacob," declares the LORD.
21
"As for Me, this is My 48covenant with them," says the LORD : "My 49Spiritwhich is upon you, and My 50wordswhich I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your loffspring, nor from the mouth of your moffspring'soffspring," says the LORD, "from now and forever ."
