Is anyoneamong you 1suffering? 2Then he must pray. Is anyonecheerful? He is to 3singpraises.
Is anyoneamong you sick? Then he must call for 4the elders of the church and they are to prayover him, a5anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
and the 6prayerboffered in faith will c7restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will 8raise him up, and if he has committedsins, dthey will be forgiven him.
16Therefore, 9confess your sins to oneanother, and pray for oneanotherso that you may be 10healed. 11The effectiveeprayer of a righteousmancanaccomplishmuch.
17Elijah was 12a man with a naturelikeours, and 13he prayedfearnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for 14threeyears and sixmonths.
18Then he 15prayedagain, and 16the gskyhpouredrain and the earthproduced its fruit.
My brethren, 17ifanyamong you strays from 18the truth and oneturns him back,
let him know that ihe who turns a sinner from the error of his way will 19save his soul from death and will 20cover a multitude of sins.
