Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your fleshlikefire. It is 1in the lastdays that you have stored up your treasure!
4Behold, 2the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and 3the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of 4the Lord of aSabaoth.
You have 5livedluxuriously on the earth and led a life of wantonpleasure; you have bfattened your hearts in 6a day of slaughter.
You have condemned and c7put to death8the righteous man; he does not resist you.
7Therefore be patient, 9brethren, 10until the coming of the Lord. 11The farmerwaits for the preciousproduce of the soil, being patientabout it, untildit gets12the early and late rains.
813You too be patient; 14strengthen your hearts, for 15the coming of the Lord is 16near.
917Do not ecomplain, 18brethren, againstoneanother, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, 19the Judge is standingf20right at the gdoor.
As an example, 21brethren, of suffering and patience, take22the prophetswhospoke in the name of the Lord.
We countthose23blessed who endured. You have heard of 24the hendurance of Job and have seen25the ioutcome of the Lord's dealings, that 26the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.
But aboveall, 27my brethren, 28do not swear, either by heavenor by earthor with anyotheroath; but jyour yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fallunderjudgment.
Is anyoneamong you 29suffering? 30Then he must pray. Is anyonecheerful? He is to 31singpraises.
