"3Puregoldcannot be given in exchange for it, Nor can silver be weighed as its price.
"It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, In preciousonyx, or sapphire.
"4Gold or glasscannotequal it, Nor can it be exchanged for articles of finegold.
18"Coral and crystal are not to be mentioned; And the acquisition of 5wisdom is above that of pearls.
"The topaz of Ethiopiacannotequal it, Nor can it be valued in 6puregold.
"7Where then does wisdomcome from? And where is the place of understanding?
"Thus it is hidden from the eyes of allliving And concealed from the birds of the sky.
"a8Abaddon and Deathsay, 'With our ears we have heard a report of it.'
"9Godunderstands its way, And He knows its place.
"For He 10looks to the ends of the earth And seeseverythingunder the heavens.
"When He imparted11weight to the wind And 12meted out the waters by measure,
When He set a 13limit for the rain And a course for the 14thunderbolt ,
27Then He saw it and declared it; He established it and alsosearched it out.
"And to man He said, 'Behold, the 15fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding.' "
