But He was sayingthis5to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die.

The crowdthenanswered Him, "We have heard out of 6the Law that 7the Christ is to remainforever; and how can You say, 'The 8Son of Manmust be 9lifted up'? Who is this10Son of Man?"

SoJesussaid to them, "11For a littlewhilelonger12the Light is among you. 13Walkwhile you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who 14walks in the darkness does not knowwhere he goes.

"While you have the Light, 15believe in the Light, so that you may become16sons of Light."ThesethingsJesusspoke, and He wentaway and 17hid Himself from them.

But though He had performedsomanysignsbefore them, yet they were not believing in Him.

This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophetwhich he spoke: "18LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT? AND TO WHOM HAS THE ARM OF THE LORD BEEN REVEALED?"

For thisreason they could not believe, for Isaiahsaidagain,

"19HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HE 20HARDENED THEIR HEART, SO* THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND PERCEIVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED AND I HEAL THEM"
