1and He instructed them that they should takenothing for their journey, except a merestaff-nobread, nobag, nomoney in their belt -

but to wearsandals; and He added, "Do not put on twotunics."

And He said to them, "Wherever* you enter a house, staythereuntil you leavetown.

"Anyplace that does not receive you orlisten to you, as you go out from there, 2shake the dustoff the soles of your feet for a testimony against them."

3They went out and preached that men should repent.

And they were casting out manydemons and 4were anointing with oilmanysickpeople and healing them.
John's Fate Recalled
145And KingHerodheard of it, for His name had becomewellknown; and people were saying, "6John the Baptist has risen from the dead, and that is whythesemiraculouspowers are at work in Him."

But others were saying, "He is 7Elijah." And others were saying, "He is 8a prophet, likeone of the prophets of old."

But when Herodheard of it, he kept saying, "John, whom I beheaded, has risen!"

For Herodhimself had sent and had Johnarrested and bound in prison on account of 9Herodias, the wife of his brotherPhilip, because he had married her.

For John had been saying to Herod, "10It is not lawful for you to have your brother'swife."
