4although1I myself might haveconfidenceeven in the flesh. Ifanyoneelsehas a mind to putconfidence in the flesh, I far more:
52circumcised the eighthday, of the 3nation of Israel, of the 4tribe of Benjamin, a 5Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the Law, 6a Pharisee;
as to zeal, 7a persecutor of the church; as to the 8righteousness which is in the Law, found9blameless.
But 10whateverthings were gain to me, thosethings I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
8Morethan that, I countallthings to be lossain view of the surpassingvalue of b11knowing12ChristJesus my Lord, cfor whom I have suffered the loss of allthings, and count them but rubbishso that I may gainChrist,
and may be found in Him, not having13a righteousness of my ownderived from the Law, but that which is throughfaith in Christ, 14the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,
that I may 15know Him and 16the power of His resurrection and d17the fellowship of His sufferings, being 18conformed to His death;
11ein order that I may 19attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Not that I have already20obtained it or have already21become perfect, but I press on fso that I may 22layhold of that gfor which also I 23was laidhold of by 24ChristJesus.
13Brethren, I do not regardmyself as having laidhold of it yet; but onething I do: 25forgetting what lies behind and reachingforward to what lies ahead,
I 26press on toward the goal for the prize of the 27upwardcall of God in 28ChristJesus.
