4 although 1I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If anyone else has a mind to put confidence in the flesh, I far more : 5 2circumcised the eighth day, of the 3nation of Israel, of the 4tribe of Benjamin, a 5Hebrew of Hebrews ; as to the Law, 6a Pharisee ; 6 as to zeal, 7a persecutor of the church ; as to the 8righteousness which is in the Law, found 9blameless. 7 But 10whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 More than that, I count all things to be loss ain view of the surpassing value of b11knowing 12Christ Jesus my Lord, cfor whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, 9 and may be found in Him, not having 13a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, 14the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, 10 that I may 15know Him and 16the power of His resurrection and d17the fellowship of His sufferings, being 18conformed to His death ; 11 ein order that I may 19attain to the resurrection from the dead. 12 Not that I have already 20obtained it or have already 21become perfect, but I press on fso that I may 22lay hold of that gfor which also I 23was laid hold of by 24Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet ; but one thing I do: 25forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I 26press on toward the goal for the prize of the 27upward call of God in 28Christ Jesus.
