27 Entonces el rey dijo: «No maten al niño; dénselo a la mujer que desea que viva, ¡porque ella es la madre!».

1 Kings 3:27

Then the king answered and said, give her the living child,
and in no wise slay it
That is, to her who desired it might not be slain, but rather be given to her who had no right to it:

she [is] the mother thereof;
which might be strongly concluded from her compassion for it, her eagerness and earnestness to have its life spared, and from the indifference of the other, yea, from her cruelty and barbarity in moving to have it divided.

25 Luego dijo: «¡Partan al niño que está vivo en dos, y denle la mitad del niño a una y la otra mitad a la otra!».

26 Entonces la verdadera madre del niño, la que lo amaba mucho, gritó: «¡Oh no, mi señor! ¡Denle el niño a ella, pero, por favor, no lo maten!».
En cambio, la otra mujer dijo: «Me parece bien, así no será ni tuyo ni mío; ¡divídanlo entre las dos!».

27 Entonces el rey dijo: «No maten al niño; dénselo a la mujer que desea que viva, ¡porque ella es la madre!».

28 Cuando el pueblo se enteró de la decisión que había tomado el rey, todos en Israel quedaron admirados porque reconocieron la sabiduría que Dios le había dado para impartir justicia.
