17 Yo endureceré el corazón de los egipcios y se lanzarán contra los israelitas. La grandeza de mi gloria se manifestará por medio del faraón y de su ejército, sus carros de guerra y sus conductores.

Exodus 14:17

And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians
That they shall have no sense of danger, and be fearless of it, incautious and thoughtless, hurried on with wrath and fury, malice and revenge:

and they shall follow them;
the Israelites into the sea, supposing it to be as safe for the one as the other:

and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his
chariots, and upon his horsemen:
by the utter destruction of them, in just retaliation for the many innocent infants that had been drowned by them in the river Nile.

Luego el Señor
le dijo a Moisés: «¿Por qué clamas a mí? ¡Dile al pueblo que se ponga en marcha!

16 Toma tu vara y extiende la mano sobre el mar. Divide las aguas para que los israelitas puedan pasar por en medio del mar, pisando tierra seca.

17 Yo endureceré el corazón de los egipcios y se lanzarán contra los israelitas. La grandeza de mi gloria se manifestará por medio del faraón y de su ejército, sus carros de guerra y sus conductores.

18 Cuando mi gloria se exhiba por medio de ellos, ¡todo Egipto verá mi gloria y sabrán que yo soy el Señor
!».

19 Entonces el ángel de Dios, que iba al frente del pueblo de Israel, se trasladó hacia atrás del campamento. La columna de nube también se cambió de lugar y pasó a estar detrás de ellos.
