Ezequiel 35

1 Mensaje para Edom
Nuevamente recibí un mensaje del Señor
:

2 «Hijo de hombre, ponte de cara al monte Seir y profetiza contra sus habitantes.

3 Dales este mensaje de parte del Señor
Soberano:
»“Oh monte Seir, yo soy tu enemigo
y levantaré mi puño contra ti
para destruirte por completo.

4 Demoleré tus ciudades
y te dejaré desolado.
Entonces sabrás que yo soy el Señor
.

5 »”Tu eterno odio por los israelitas te llevó a masacrarlos cuando estaban indefensos, cuando ya los había castigado por todos sus pecados.

6 Tan cierto como que yo vivo, dice el Señor
Soberano, ya que no muestras rechazo alguno a la sangre, te daré tu propio baño de sangre. ¡Ahora te toca a ti!

7 Haré del monte Seir una desolación total; mataré a los que traten de escapar y a cualquiera que regrese.

8 Llenaré tus montes con los cadáveres. Tus colinas, valles y barrancos se colmarán de gente masacrada a espada.

9 Te dejaré desolado para siempre; tus ciudades jamás se reconstruirán. Entonces sabrás que yo soy el Señor

10 »”Pues dijiste: ‘Los territorios de Israel y Judá serán míos; me apoderaré de ellos. ¡Qué me importa que el Señor
esté allí!’.

11 Por lo tanto, tan cierto como que yo vivo, dice el Señor
Soberano, te pagaré todos tus actos de enojo con los míos. Te castigaré por todos tus actos de enojo, envidia y odio; y me daré a conocer a Israel
por medio de lo que yo te haga a ti.

12 Entonces sabrás que yo, el Señor
, he oído cada palabra de desprecio que pronunciaste contra los montes de Israel. Pues dijiste: ‘¡Están desolados; nos fueron entregados para que los comamos!’.

13 ¡Al decir eso, se jactaron con arrogancia contra mí y lo oí todo!

14 »”Esto dice el Señor
Soberano: todo el mundo se alegrará cuando te deje hecho un lugar desolado.

15 Tú te alegraste cuando el territorio de Israel fue devastado. ¡Ahora yo me alegraré de tu desolación! ¡Serán exterminados, ustedes, pueblo del monte Seir y todos los que viven en Edom! Entonces sabrán que yo soy el Señor
”.

Chapter 35

A prophecy against Edom.

Verses 1-9 All who have God against them, have the word of God against them. Those that have a constant hatred to God and his people, as the carnal mind has, can only expect to be made desolate for ever.

Verses 10-15 When we see the vanity of the world in the disappointments, losses, and crosses, which others meet with, instead of showing ourselves greedy of worldly things, we should sit more loose to them. In the multitude of words, not one is unknown to God; not the most idle word; and the most daring is not above his rebuke. In the destruction of the enemies of the church, God designs his own glory; and we may be sure that he will not come short of his design. And when the fulness of the Jews and Gentiles shall come into the church, all antichristian opposers shall be destroyed.

INTRODUCTION TO EZEKIEL 35

This chapter is a prophecy of the destruction of Edom, which is threatened, Eze 35:1-4, the cause of it, their hatred and slaughter of the Israelites, Eze 35:5-9, their claim of the lands of Israel and Judah for possession, Eze 35:10,11, their blasphemies against the people of God, and the Lord himself, Eze 35:12,13, the aggravation of their ruin, which was irretrievable; that when it was well with others, it should go ill with them; by way of just retaliation, Eze 35:14,15.
