Deuteronomy 4:17

The likeness of any beast that is on the earth
As there are scarce any but the likeness of them has been made and worshipped, or the creatures themselves, as the ox by the Egyptians, the sheep by the Thebans, the goat by the Mendesians, and others by different people:

the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air;
as the hawk, and the bird called Ibis, and another by the name of Cneph by the Egyptians, and the eagle by others.

15 »El día que el SEÑOR les habló en Horeb, en medio del fuego, ustedes no vieron ninguna figura. Por lo tanto, tengan mucho cuidado

16 de no corromperse haciendo ídolos o figuras que tengan forma o imagen de hombre o de mujer,

17 o de animales que caminan sobre la tierra, o de aves que vuelan por el aire,

18 o de reptiles que se arrastran por la tierra, o de peces que viven en las aguas debajo de la tierra.

19 De lo contrario, cuando levanten los ojos y vean todo el ejército del cielo —es decir, el sol, la luna y las estrellas—, pueden sentirse tentados a postrarse ante ellos y adorarlos. Esos astros se los ha dado el SEÑOR, el Dios de ustedes, a todas las naciones que están debajo del cielo.
