2 Reis 18:9-12

9 No quarto ano do reinado do rei Ezequias, o sétimo ano do reinado de Oseias, filho de Elá, rei de Israel, Salmaneser, rei da Assíria, marchou contra Samaria e a cercou.

10 Ao fim de três anos, os assírios a tomaram. Assim a cidade foi conquistada no sexto ano do reinado de Ezequias, o nono ano do reinado de Oseias, rei de Israel.

11 O rei assírio deportou os israelitas para a Assíria e os estabeleceu em Hala, em Gozã do rio Habor e nas cidades dos medos.

12 Isso aconteceu porque os israelitas não obedeceram ao SENHOR, o seu Deus, mas violaram a sua aliança: tudo o que Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, tinha ordenado. Não o ouviram nem lhe obedeceram.

INTRODUCTION TO 2 KINGS 18

This chapter begins with the good reign of Hezekiah king of Judah, the reformation he made in the kingdom, and the prosperity that attended him when Israel was carried captive, 2Ki 18:1-12 and gives an account of the siege of Jerusalem by the king of Assyria, and of the distress Hezekiah was in, and the hard measures he was obliged to submit unto, 2Ki 18:13-18 and of the reviling and blasphemous speech of Rabshakeh, one of the generals of the king of Assyria, urging the Jews to a revolt from their king, 2Ki 18:19-37.
