45 El hijo de Samai fue Maón, y Maón fue el padre de Bet-sur.

46 La concubina de Caleb, Efa, dio a luz a Harán, a Mosa y a Gazez. Harán fue el padre de Gazez.

47 Los hijos de Jahdai fueron: Regem, Jotam, Gesam, Pelet, Efa y Saaf.

48 Otra de las concubinas de Caleb, Maaca, dio a luz a Seber y a Tirhana.

49 También dio a luz a Saaf (el padre de Madmana) y a Seva (el padre de Macbena y de Gibea). Caleb también tuvo una hija llamada Acsa.

50 Todos ellos fueron descendientes de Caleb.

Los hijos de Hur, el hijo mayor de Efrata, la esposa de Caleb, fueron: Sobal (el fundador de Quiriat-jearim),

51 Salma (el fundador de Belén) y Haref (el fundador de Bet-gader).

52 Los descendientes de Sobal (el fundador de Quiriat-jearim) fueron Haroe, la mitad de los manahetitas,

53 y las familias de Quiriat-jearim: los itritas, los futitas, los sumatitas y los misraítas, de quienes procedía la gente de Zora y Estaol.

54 Los descendientes de Salma fueron: la gente de Belén, los netofatitas, Atrot-bet-joab, la otra mitad de los manahetitas, los zoraítas,

55 y las familias de escribas que vivieron en Jabes: los tirateos, los simeateos y los sucateos. Todos ellos fueron ceneos, que descendían de Hamat, el padre de la familia de Recab.

This chapter begins with the twelve sons of Israel or Jacob, 1Ch 2:1,2, then reckons the sons of Judah, the fourth son of Jacob, 1Ch 2:3,4, then the posterity of Pharez and Zerah, sons of Judah, 1Ch 2:5-8, next the sons of Hezron, a son of Pharez, 1Ch 2:9, particularly the posterity of Ram, a son of Hezron, from whom sprung Jesse and his family, 1Ch 2:10-17, then of Caleb: another son of Hezron, 1Ch 2:18-24, and next of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron, 1Ch 1:25-33 and particularly the posterity of Sheshan, a descendant of his, 1Ch 1:34-41 and then other sons of Caleb, with their posterity, are reckoned, 1Ch 1:42-54 and the chapter is closed with the families of the Scribes in Jabesh, the same with the Kenites, 1Ch 2:55.
