1Jesusknew that they wished to question Him, and He said to them, "Are you deliberatingtogether*aboutthis, that I said, 'A littlewhile, and you will not see Me, and again a littlewhile, and you will see Me'?

"Truly, truly, I say to you, that 2you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will grieve, but 3your grief will be turned into joy.

"4Whenever a woman is in labor she haspain, because her hour has come; but when she givesbirth to the child, she nolongerremembers the anguishbecause of the joy that a child has been born into the world.

"Therefore5you toohavegriefnow; but 6I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and noone will take your joyaway from you.
Prayer Promises
23"7In that day8you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, 9if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you.

"10Untilnow you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your 11joy may be madefull.

"Thesethings I have spoken to you in 12figurativelanguage; 13an hour is comingwhen I will nolongerspeak to you in figurativelanguage, but will tell you plainly of the Father.

"14In that day15you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf;

for 16the FatherHimselfloves you, because you have loved Me and 17have believed that 18I cameforth from the Father.

"19I cameforth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the worldagain and 20going to the Father."

His disciplessaid, "Lo, now You are speakingplainly and are not using21a figure of speech.
