Whether is iteasier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiventhee;or to say, Arise, and take upthybed,andwalk?

Butthat ye may knowthat the Son of manhathpoweronearth to forgivesins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

I say unto thee,Arise, and take upthybed,and go thy wayintothinehouse.

Andimmediately he arose, took up the bed,and went forthbefore them all; insomuch that they wereallamazed, andglorifiedGod,saying*, Weneversaw it on this fashion.

And he went forthagainby the sea side;andall the multituderesorteduntohim,and he taughtthem.

And as he passed by, he sawLevi the son of Alphaeussittingat the receipt of custom,andsaid unto him,Followme.And he arose and followedhim.

And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meatinhishouse,manypublicansandsinnerssatalso together withJesusandhisdisciples:for there weremany,and they followedhim.

And when the scribesandPhariseessawhimeatwithpublicansandsinners, they said unto hisdisciples,How is it that he eatethanddrinkethwithpublicansandsinners?

WhenJesusheard it, he saith unto them,They that are wholehavenoneed of the physician,but they that aresick: I camenot to call the righteous,butsinnerstorepentance.

And the disciples of Johnand of the Phariseesused to fast: and they comeandsay unto him, Why do* the disciples of Johnand of the Phariseesfast, butthydisciplesfastnot?

AndJesussaid unto them*, Can the children of the bridechamberfast, whilethebridegroomiswiththem? as long astheyhave the bridegroomwiththem, they cannot*fast.

But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken awayfromthem,andthen shall they fastinthosedays.

No manalsoseweth a piece of newcloth[a]on an oldgarment:else the new piece that filled it up taketh awayfrom the old,and the rent is madeworse.

And no manputtethnewwineintooldbottles:[b]else the newwine doth burst the bottles,and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: butnewwine must be putintonewbottles.

And it came to pass, that hewentthrough the corn fieldson the sabbath day;andhisdisciplesbegan, as they went*, to pluck the ears of corn.

And the Phariseessaid unto him,Behold,why do theyon the sabbath day that whichisnotlawful?

Andhesaid unto them,Have ye neverreadwhatDaviddid, when he hadneed,and was an hungred, he,and they that were withhim?
26
How he wentinto the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest,and did eat the shewbread*, whichisnotlawful to eat but for the priests,andgavealso to them which werewithhim?

And he said unto them,The sabbath was madeforman, and notmanfor the sabbath:

Therefore the Son of manisLordalso of the sabbath.
