But he that received the seedinto stony places, the sameis he that heareth the word,andanonwithjoyreceivethit;

Yet hath henotrootinhimself,butdureth for a while:for when tribulationorpersecutionarisethbecause of the word, by and by he is offended.[a]

He also that received seedamong the thornsis he thatheareth the word;and the care of thisworld,and the deceitfulness of riches,choke the word,and he becomethunfruitful.

But he that received seedinto the goodgroundishe that heareth the word,andunderstandeth it; whichalso beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, someanhundredfold*, somesixty*, somethirty.

Anotherparable put he forth unto them,saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowedgoodseedinhisfield:

Butwhilemenslept, hisenemycameandsowedtaresamongthewheat,and went his way.

Butwhen the blade was sprung up, and brought forthfruit,thenappeared the taresalso.

So the servants of the householdercame and said unto him,Sir,didstnot thou sowgoodseedinthyfield? from whencethen hath ittares?
28
Hesaid unto them, An enemyhathdonethis*. The servantssaid unto him, Wilt thouthen that we go and gatherthemup?
29
But he said, Nay;lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheatwiththem.
30
Letboth grow togetheruntil the harvest:andin the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye togetherfirst the tares,andbindtheminbundlestoburnthem:butgather the wheatintomybarn.

Anotherparable put he forth unto them,saying, The kingdom of heavenislike to a grain of mustard seed,which a mantook, and sowedinhisfield:

Whichindeedis the least of allseeds:butwhen it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs,andbecometh a tree, so that the birds of the aircomeandlodgein the branchesthereof.

Anotherparable spake he unto them;The kingdom of heavenislike unto leaven,which a womantook, and hidinthreemeasures[b] of meal,till the wholewasleavened.

All these thingsspakeJesus unto the multitudeinparables;andwithout a parable spake henot unto them:

That it might be fulfilledwhich was spokenby the prophet,saying, I will openmymouthinparables; I will utter things which have been kept secretfrom the foundation of the world.

ThenJesussent the multitudeaway, and wentinto the house:andhisdisciplescame unto him,saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

He answeredandsaid unto them,He that soweth the goodseedis the Son of man;
38
Thefieldis the world*; the goodseedare* the children of the kingdom;but the taresare the children of the wicked one;
39
Theenemy that sowedthemis the devil*; the harvestis the end of the world;and the reapersare the angels.
40
Astherefore the tares are gatheredandburned in the fire;so shall it bein the end of thisworld.
