Then the LORD will be jealous1 for his land and take pity2 on his people.
The LORD will reply to them: "I am sending you grain, new wine3 and oil,4 enough to satisfy you fully;5 never again will I make you an object of scorn6 to the nations.
"I will drive the northern army7 far from you, pushing it into a parched and barren land, with its front columns going into the eastern8 sea and those in the rear into the western sea. And its stench9 will go up; its smell will rise." Surely he has done great things.
Be not afraid,10 O land; be glad and rejoice.11 Surely the LORD has done great things.12
Be not afraid, O wild animals, for the open pastures are becoming green.13 The trees are bearing their fruit; the fig tree14 and the vine15 yield their riches.16
Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice17 in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness.18 He sends you abundant showers,19 both autumn20 and spring rains,21 as before.
The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow22 with new wine23 and oil.
"I will repay you for the years the locusts24 have eaten25-- the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm-- my great army26 that I sent among you.
You will have plenty to eat, until you are full,27 and you will praise28 the name of the LORD your God, who has worked wonders29 for you; never again will my people be shamed.30
Then you will know31 that I am in Israel, that I am the LORD 32 your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed.33
