Levítico 26:14-24

14 "Pero si no me obedecéis y no ponéis por obra todos estos mandamientos,

15 si despreciáis mis estatutos y si aborrece vuestra alma mis ordenanzas para no poner por obra todos mis mandamientos, quebrantando así mi pacto,

16 yo, por mi parte, os haré esto: Pondré sobre vosotros terror súbito, tisis y fiebre que consuman los ojos y hagan languidecer el alma. En vano sembraréis vuestra semilla, pues vuestros enemigos la comerán.

17 "Fijaré mi rostro contra vosotros, para que seáis derrotados delante de vuestros enemigos; los que os aborrecen os dominarán y huiréis sin que nadie os persiga.

18 "Y si aun con todas estas cosas no me obedecéis, entonces os castigaré siete veces más por vuestros pecados.

19 "También quebrantaré el orgullo de vuestro poderío, y haré vuestros cielos como hierro y vuestra tierra como bronce.

20 "Y vuestras fuerzas se consumirán en vano, porque vuestra tierra no dará su producto y los árboles de la tierra no darán su fruto.

21 "Y si procedéis con hostilidad contra mí y no queréis obedecerme, aumentaré la plaga sobre vosotros siete veces conforme a vuestros pecados.

22 "Soltaré entre vosotros las fieras del campo que os privarán de vuestros hijos, destruirán vuestro ganado y os reducirán en número de manera que vuestros caminos queden desiertos.

23 "Y si con estas cosas no os enmendáis ante mí, sino que procedéis con hostilidad contra mí,

24 entonces yo procederé con hostilidad contra vosotros; y yo mismo os heriré siete veces por vuestros pecados.

INTRODUCTION TO LEVITICUS 26

In this chapter, after a repetition of some laws against idolatry, and concerning keeping sabbaths, and reverencing the sanctuary of God, Le 26:1,2; in order to encourage the Israelites to keep the various statutes and commandments in this book, and in the preceding, many promises are made of plenty, and peace, and safety from enemies, and of the presence of God with them, Le 26:3-13; and on the contrary, to such as should despise and break his commandments, the most grievous things are threatened, as diseases of body, destruction by their enemies, barrenness and unfruitfulness of land, the sore judgments of wild beasts, famine, sword, and pestilence, Le 26:14-39; and yet after all, when they should confess their sins, and were humbled for them, the Lord promises to remember the covenant he made with their ancestors, and would deal kindly with them, and not cast them away, and utterly destroy them, Le 26:40-46.
