AndJesusanswered and spake unto themagainbyparables, and said,

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certainking,whichmade a marriage for hisson,

And sent forthhisservants to call them that were biddento the wedding:and they wouldnotcome.

Again, he sent forthotherservants,saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have preparedmydinner:myoxenand my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready:comeunto the marriage.

But they made light of it, and went their ways, onetohisfarm,anothertohismerchandise:

And the remnanttookhisservants, and entreated them spitefully, andslew them.
7
But when the kingheard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forthhisarmies, and destroyedthosemurderers,and burned uptheircity.
8
Then saith he to hisservants*, The weddingisready,but they which were biddenwerenotworthy.
9
Go yethereforeinto the highways*, and as many asye shall find, bidto the marriage.
10
Sothoseservants went outinto the highways, and gathered togetherall as many as they found, bothbadandgood:and the wedding was furnished with guests.

Andwhen the king came in to see the guests, he sawthere a man which hadnoton a weddinggarment:

And he saith unto him,Friend,how camest thou in hithernothaving a weddinggarment?And he was speechless.

Thensaid the king to the servants,Bindhimhandandfoot, and takehimaway, andcast him intoouterdarkness;there shall beweepingandgnashing of teeth.

Thenwent the Pharisees, and tookcounselhow they might entanglehimin his talk.
16
And they sent out unto himtheirdiscipleswith the Herodians,saying, Master, we knowthat thou arttrue,andteachest the way of Godintruth*, neithercarestthouforany man: for thou regardestnottheperson of men.

Tellustherefore,Whatthinkestthou? Is it lawful to givetribute unto Caesar,ornot?

ButJesusperceivedtheirwickedness, and said, Why tempt yeme, ye hypocrites?

Shewme the tributemoney.And they brought unto him a penny.[a]
20
And he saith unto them,Whose is thisimageandsuperscription[b]?
21
They say unto him,Caesar's.Then saith he unto them,Rendertherefore unto Caesar the things which areCaesar's;and unto God the things that areGod's.

When they had heard these words, they marvelled, andlefthim, and went their way.

The same*daycame to him the Sadducees,whichsay that there isnoresurrection,andaskedhim,
24
Saying, Master,Mosessaid, If a mandie, havingnochildren,hisbrother shall marryhiswife,and raise upseed unto hisbrother.
25
Now there werewithussevenbrethren:and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and,havingnoissue,lefthiswife unto hisbrother:

Likewise the secondalso,and the third,unto the seventh.[c]
