Salmos 27:1-11

1 Salmo 27
Salmo de David.
El Señor
es mi luz y mi salvación,
entonces ¿por qué habría de temer?
El Señor
es mi fortaleza y me protege del peligro,
entonces ¿por qué habría de temblar?

2 Cuando los malvados vengan a devorarme,
cuando mis enemigos y adversarios me ataquen,
tropezarán y caerán.

3 Aunque un ejército poderoso me rodee,
mi corazón no temerá.
Aunque me ataquen,
permaneceré confiado.

4 Lo único que le pido al Señor
—lo que más anhelo—
es vivir en la casa del Señor
todos los días de mi vida,
deleitándome en la perfección del Señor
y meditando dentro de su templo.

5 Pues él me ocultará allí cuando vengan dificultades;
me esconderá en su santuario.
Me pondrá en una roca alta donde nadie me alcanzará.

6 Entonces mantendré mi cabeza en alto,
por encima de los enemigos que me rodean.
En su santuario ofreceré sacrificios con gritos de alegría,
y con música cantaré y alabaré al Señor
.

7 Escúchame cuando oro, oh Señor
;
¡ten misericordia y respóndeme!

8 Mi corazón te ha oído decir: «Ven y conversa conmigo».
Y mi corazón responde: «Aquí vengo, Señor
».

9 No me des la espalda;
no rechaces a tu siervo con enojo.
Tú siempre has sido mi ayudador.
No me dejes ahora; no me abandones,
¡oh Dios de mi salvación!

10 Aunque mi padre y mi madre me abandonen,
el Señor
me mantendrá cerca.

11 Enséñame cómo vivir, oh Señor
.
Guíame por el camino correcto,
porque mis enemigos me esperan.

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 27

\\<<[A Psalm] of David>>\\. The Septuagint interpreters add to this title, "before he was anointed". David was anointed three times, first when a youth in his father's house; but this psalm could not be written before that time, because he had not had then any experience of war, nor could be in any immediate apprehension of it, as here suggested; he was anointed a second time, after the death of Saul at Hebron, by the men of Judah; before that time indeed he had been harassed by Saul, and distressed by the Amalekites, and was driven from the public worship of God, to which he has a respect, Ps 27:4; and he was a third time anointed, by the elders of Israel, king over all Israel; and between the death of Saul and this unction there was a war between the house of David and the house of Saul; but what is referred to is not certain, nor is it of moment, since these words are neither in the Hebrew text, nor in the Chaldee paraphrase. Theodoret is of opinion this psalm was written by David when he fled from Saul, and came to Ahimelech the priest.
