Éxodo 9:6-16

6 Así que el Señor
hizo tal como había dicho. A la mañana siguiente, todos los animales de los egipcios murieron, pero los israelitas no perdieron ni un solo animal.

7 Entonces el faraón envió a sus funcionarios a investigar, ¡y comprobaron que los israelitas no habían perdido ni uno de sus animales! Pero aun así, el corazón del faraón siguió obstinado,
y una vez más se negó a dejar salir al pueblo.

8 Plaga de llagas purulentas
Entonces el Señor
les dijo a Moisés y a Aarón: «Tomen puñados de hollín de un horno de ladrillos y que Moisés lance el hollín al aire a la vista del faraón.

9 La ceniza se esparcirá como polvo fino sobre toda la tierra de Egipto y provocará llagas purulentas en las personas y en los animales por todo el territorio».

10 Entonces Moisés y Aarón tomaron hollín de un horno de ladrillos y se pararon ante el faraón. Mientras él observaba, Moisés lanzó la ceniza al aire, y brotaron llagas purulentas tanto en las personas como en los animales.

11 Ni los magos podían estar delante de Moisés, porque también ellos estaban afectados con las llagas, igual que todos los egipcios.

12 Pero el Señor
endureció el corazón del faraón, y tal como el Señor
había dicho a Moisés, el faraón se negó a escuchar.

13 Plaga de granizo
Luego el Señor
le dijo a Moisés: «Mañana, levántate temprano, regresa a ver al faraón y dile: “Esto dice el Señor
, Dios de los hebreos: ‘Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me adore.

14 De lo contrario, enviaré más plagas sobre ti,
tus funcionarios y tu pueblo. Entonces sabrás que no hay nadie como yo en toda la tierra.

15 A estas alturas, bien podría haber ya extendido mi mano y haberte herido a ti y a tu pueblo con una plaga capaz de exterminarlos de la faz de la tierra.

16 Sin embargo, te he perdonado la vida con un propósito: mostrarte mi poder
y dar a conocer mi fama por toda la tierra.

INTRODUCTION TO EXODUS 9

This chapter relates the plague of murrain upon the cattle, and which yet was not upon the cattle of the Israelites, Ex 9:1-7 and the plague of boils and blains on man and beast, Ex 9:8-11 and Pharaoh's heart being hardened, Moses is sent to him with a message from the Lord, threatening him that all his plagues should come upon him, and particularly the pestilence, if he would not let Israel go; and signifying, that to show his power in him, and declare his name throughout the earth, had he raised him up, and a kind of amazement is expressed at his obstinacy and pride, Ex 9:12-17, and he is told that a terrible storm of hail should fall upon the land, and destroy all in the field; wherefore those that regarded the word of the Lord got their cattle within doors, but those that did not took no care of them, Ex 9:18-21 and upon Moses's stretching out his hand, when ordered by the Lord, the storm began, and destroyed every thing in the field throughout the land, excepting the land of Goshen, Ex 9:22-26 upon which Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron, acknowledged his sin, and the justice of God, begged they would entreat for him, which Moses did; but when the storm was over, Pharaoh's heart was still more hardened, and he refused to let the people go, Ex 9:27-35.
