Peace Of Mind

A man said that he received a letter from the company that manufactured his
electric clothes dryer. The letter noted that the warranty on his dryer had
expired. They wanted to sell him an extended warranty. The letter said,
"We want you to continue enjoying the peace of mind that comes from knowing
you are protected." He thought, "What a wonderful company! Just think
of it: a huge firm like this is interested in my peace of mind." Of
course, he was not sincere when he said it. He was certain that his peace of
mind was not at all what the company was interested in. He was certain they had
very material considerations in mind. In fact, it is only in the realm of the
spiritual that anyone worries about your peace of mind. And it is only
spiritual things that can give you peace of mind. But that peace of mind is so
large and so strong the Bible calls it the peace that passes understanding.
