The LORD abhors dishonest scales,1 but accurate weights are his delight.2

When pride comes, then comes disgrace,3 but with humility comes wisdom.4

The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.5

Wealth6 is worthless in the day of wrath,7 but righteousness delivers from death.8

The righteousness of the blameless makes a straight way9 for them, but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness.10

The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.11

When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes;12 all he expected from his power comes to nothing.13

The righteous man is rescued from trouble, and it comes on the wicked instead.14

With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape.15
10
When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices;16 when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.17
