if your sons keep my covenant1 and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne2 for ever and ever."

For the LORD has chosen Zion,3 he has desired it for his dwelling:4

"This is my resting place for ever and ever;5 here I will sit enthroned,6 for I have desired it--

I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food.7

I will clothe her priests8 with salvation, and her saints will ever sing for joy.9

"Here I will make a horna grow10 for David and set up a lamp11 for my anointed one.12

I will clothe his enemies with shame,13 but the crown on his head14 will be resplendent."
