Psalm 132:6-16 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
6 We heard it in Ephrathah,1 we came upon it in the fields of Jaara:b2 7 "Let us go to his dwelling place;3 let us worship at his footstool4-- 8 arise, O LORD,5 and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. 9 May your priests be clothed with righteousness;6 may your saints7 sing for joy." 10 For the sake of David your servant, do not reject your anointed one. 11 The LORD swore an oath to David,8 a sure oath that he will not revoke: "One of your own descendants9 I will place on your throne-- 12 if your sons keep my covenant10 and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne11 for ever and ever." 13 For the LORD has chosen Zion,12 he has desired it for his dwelling:13 14 "This is my resting place for ever and ever;14 here I will sit enthroned,15 for I have desired it-- 15 I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food.16 16 I will clothe her priests17 with salvation, and her saints will ever sing for joy.18
