1
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?1 Why are you so far2 from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?32
O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,4 by night,5 and am not silent.
3
Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;6 you are the praise7 of Israel.a4
In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them.85
They cried to you9 and were saved; in you they trusted10 and were not disappointed.116
But I am a worm12 and not a man, scorned by men13 and despised14 by the people.
7
All who see me mock me;15 they hurl insults,16 shaking their heads:178
"He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him.18 Let him deliver him,19 since he delights20 in him."
9
Yet you brought me out of the womb;21 you made me trust22 in you even at my mother's breast.
10
From birth23 I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God.
11
Do not be far from me,24 for trouble is near25 and there is no one to help.26
