I waited patiently1 for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.22
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,3 out of the mud4 and mire;5 he set my feet6 on a rock7 and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song8 in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear9 and put their trust10 in the LORD.

Blessed is the man11 who makes the LORD his trust,12 who does not look to the proud,13 to those who turn aside to false gods.a145
Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders15 you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount16 to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many17 to declare.

Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,18 but my ears you have piercedbc;19 burnt offerings20 and sin offerings you did not require.

Then I said, "Here I am, I have come-- it is written about me in the scroll.d218
I desire to do your will,22 O my God;23 your law is within my heart."249
I proclaim righteousness25 in the great assembly;26 I do not seal my lips, as you know,27 O LORD.
