4Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes.1 They will walk with me, dressed in white,2 for they are worthy.5He who overcomes3 will, like them, be dressed in white.4 I will never blot out his name from the book of life,5 but will acknowledge his name before my Father6 and his angels.6He who has an ear, let him hear7 what the Spirit says to the churches.
7"To the angel of the church in Philadelphia8 write: These are the words of him who is holy9 and true,10 who holds the key of David.11 What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.8I know your deeds.12 See, I have placed before you an open door13 that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.149I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan,15 who claim to be Jews though they are not,16 but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet17 and acknowledge that I have loved you.1810Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you19 from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world20 to test21 those who live on the earth.2211I am coming soon.23 Hold on to what you have,24 so that no one will take your crown.2512Him who overcomes26 I will make a pillar27 in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God28 and the name of the city of my God,29 the new Jerusalem,30 which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name.13He who has an ear, let him hear31 what the Spirit says to the churches.
