Therefore, since we have been justified1 through faith,2 wea have peace3 with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,42
through whom we have gained access5 by faith into this grace in which we now stand.6 And web rejoice in the hope7 of the glory of God.
Not only so, but wec also rejoice in our sufferings,8 because we know that suffering produces perseverance;94
perseverance, character; and character, hope.
And hope10 does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love11 into our hearts by the Holy Spirit,12 whom he has given us.
You see, at just the right time,13 when we were still powerless,14 Christ died for the ungodly.157
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.169
Since we have now been justified17 by his blood,18 how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath19 through him!
For if, when we were God's enemies,20 we were reconciled21 to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!2211
Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.23
