Mark 14:55-65

Now the chief priests and the whole Council[a] were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none.
1For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony 2did not agree.
And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying,
3"We heard him say, 4'I will destroy this temple 5that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, 6not made with hands.'"
Yet even about this their testimony did not agree.
And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?"[b]
But 7he remained silent and made no answer. 8Again the high priest asked him, "Are you 9the Christ, the Son of 10the Blessed?"
And Jesus said, "I am, and 11you will see the Son of Man 12seated at the right hand of Power, and 13coming with the clouds of heaven."
And the high priest 14tore his garments and said, "What further witnesses do we need?
You have heard 15his blasphemy. What is your decision?" And they 16all condemned him as 17deserving death.
18And some began 19to spit on him and 20to cover his face and to strike him, saying to him, "Prophesy!" And the guards received him 21with blows.
