33And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that.34And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you?1 Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.35But love your enemies, do good to them,2 and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children3 of the Most High,4 because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.36Be merciful,5 just as your Father6 is merciful.
37"Do not judge, and you will not be judged.7 Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.838Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.9 For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."1039
He also told them this parable: "Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit?1140Students are not above their teacher, but all who are fully trained will be like their teacher.1241"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in someone else's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?42How can you say, 'Friend, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from the other person's eye.
