1 In the LORD I take refuge.1 How then can you say to me: "Flee2 like a bird to your mountain.3 2 For look, the wicked bend their bows;4 they set their arrows5 against the strings to shoot from the shadows6 at the upright in heart.7 3 When the foundations8 are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?" 4 The LORD is in his holy temple;9 the LORD is on his heavenly throne.10 He observes everyone on earth;11 his eyes examine12 them. 5 The LORD examines the righteous,13 but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion.14 6 On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur;15 a scorching wind16 will be their lot. 7 For the LORD is righteous,17 he loves justice;18 the upright19 will see his face.20
