View In My Bible

For the director of music. To the tune of "The Doe of the Morning." A psalm of David."

1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?1 Why are you so far2 from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?3 2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,4 by night,5 but I find no rest.a 3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;6 you are the praiseb7 of Israel. 4 In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them.8 5 They cried to you9 and were saved; in you they trusted10 and were not disappointed.11 6 But I am a worm,12 not a human being; I am scorned by everyone,13 despised14 by the people.
