Luke 22:14 Meaning and Commentary

Luke 22:14

And when the hour was come
When it was evening, the last of the two evenings, when it was dark, at least after six o'clock; (See Gill on Matthew 26:20). he sat down;
or lay along on a couch, as was the custom; see the note, as before: and the twelve apostles with him;
for Judas, after he had made his bargain with the chief priests, Scribes, and elders, came and took his place with the rest of the apostles, both to cover his sin, and to watch the best opportunity of betraying his master.

Luke 22:14 In-Context

12 "And he will show you a large furnished room upstairs. There make your preparations."
13 So they went and found all as He had told them; and they got the Passover ready.
14 When the time was come, and He had taken His place at table, and the Apostles with Him,
15 He said to them, "Earnestly have I longed to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;
16 for I tell you that I certainly shall not eat one again till its full meaning has been brought out in the Kingdom of God."
