Proverbios 27:12-22

Listen to Proverbios 27:12-22
12 El hombre prudente ve el mal y se esconde, los simples siguen adelante y pagan las consecuencias.
13 Tómale la ropa al que sale fiador del extraño; y tómale prenda por la mujer desconocida.
14 Al que muy de mañana bendice a su amigo en alta voz, le será contado como una maldición.
15 Gotera continua en dĂ­a de lluvia y mujer rencillosa, son semejantes;
16 el que trata de contenerla refrena al viento, y recoge aceite con su mano derecha.
17 El hierro con hierro se afila, y un hombre aguza a otro.
18 El que cuida la higuera comerá su fruto, y el que atiende a su señor será honrado.
19 Como el agua refleja el rostro, asĂ­ el corazĂłn del hombre refleja al hombre.
20 El Seol y el AbadĂłn nunca se sacian; tampoco se sacian los ojos del hombre.
21 El crisol es para la plata y el horno para el oro, y al hombre se le prueba por la alabanza que recibe.
22 Aunque machaques con el mazo al necio en un mortero entre el grano molido, no se apartará de él su necedad.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 14

This chapter relates the sickness of Jeroboam's son, the application of his wife, at his instance, to the prophet Ahijah, in the child's favour, 1Ki 14:1-6, the prophecy of the prophet concerning the ruin of Jeroboam's house, and the death of the child, which came to pass, 1Ki 14:7-18, an account of the years of Jeroboam's reign, and also of Rehoboam's, 1Ki 14:19-21, and of the evil things done and suffered by the latter in his kingdom, and the calamities that came upon him for it, 1Ki 14:22-28 and the conclusion of his reign, 1Ki 14:29-31.
