Isaías 35:3-10

3 Confortad las manos cansadas, esforzad las rodillas que titubean

4 Decid a los medrosos de corazón: Confortaos, no temáis; he aquí que vuestro Dios viene con venganza, con pago, el mismo Dios vendrá, y os salvará

5 Entonces los ojos de los ciegos serán abiertos; y los oídos de los sordos se abrirán

6 Entonces el cojo saltará como un ciervo; y alabará la lengua del mudo; porque aguas serán cavadas en el desierto, y arroyos en la soledad

7 El lugar seco será tornado en estanque, y el sequedal en manaderos de aguas; en la habitación de dragones, en su cama, será lugar de cañas y de juncos

8 Y habrá allí camino y calzada, y se llamará Camino de Santidad; no pasará por él hombre inmundo; y habrá para ellos en él quien los acompañe, de tal manera que los insensatos no yerren

9 No habrá allí león, ni bestia fiera subirá por él, ni allí se hallará; para que puedan caminar los redimidos

10 Y los rescatados del SEÑOR volverán, y vendrán a Sion con cánticos; y gozo perpetuo será sobre sus cabezas; y retendrán el gozo, y la alegría, y huirán la tristeza y el gemido

INTRODUCTION TO ISAIAH 35

This chapter is a prediction of the glory and flourishing estate of the Gospel church, and of the blessings received by it from Christ. Its flourishing state is expressed by the fruitfulness of the desert, being made like to Lebanon, Carmel, and Sharon; and by the inhabitants of it seeing the glory and excellency of Christ, Isa 35:1,2 the ministers of the word are directed and exhorted to strengthen the weak, and comfort the feeble minded, by assuring them of the coming of Christ to save them, Isa 35:3,4 when miracles, both in nature and grace, should be wrought; and great alterations should be made in the wilderness, by the power of God, Isa 35:5-7 when a way should be cast up, described; and the persons that should walk in it are pointed at; and the end it should bring them to, everlasting joy and happiness, Isa 35:8-10.
