Ye have heardthat it was said by them of old time, Thou shaltnotkill; andwhosoevershallkill shall be in danger of the judgment:

ButIsay unto you,Thatwhosoever is angry with hisbrother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment:andwhosoevershallsay to hisbrother,Raca,[a] shall be in danger of the council:butwhosoevershallsay, Thou fool, shall be in dangerofhellfire.

Thereforeif thou bringthygiftto the altar, and thererememberestthatthybrotherhathoughtagainstthee;

Leavetherethygiftbefore the altar,and go thy way; first be reconciled to thybrother,andthencome and offerthygift.

Agree* with thineadversaryquickly,whilesthouartin the waywithhim; lest at any time the adversarydeliverthee to the judge,and the judgedeliverthee to the officer,and thou be castintoprison.

Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no meanscome out thence,tillthou hast paid the uttermostfarthing.
