Levítico 11:20-30

20 »No debes comer insectos alados que caminan por el suelo; son detestables para ti.

21 Sin embargo, puedes comer insectos alados que caminan por el suelo y que tengan articulaciones para poder saltar.

22 Los insectos que se te permite comer incluyen toda clase de langostas, langostones, grillos y saltamontes.

23 Todos los demás insectos alados que caminan sobre el suelo son detestables para ti.

24 »Las siguientes criaturas te harán ceremonialmente impuro; cualquiera que toque el cadáver de uno de esos animales quedará contaminado hasta el anochecer;

25 y si levanta el cadáver deberá lavar su ropa, y quedará contaminado hasta el anochecer:

26 todo animal que tenga pezuñas pero que no estén partidas de manera pareja y que no rumie es impuro para ti. Cualquiera que toque el cadáver de dicho animal quedará contaminado.

27 De los animales que caminan en cuatro patas, los que se apoyan sobre sus plantas son impuros. Cualquiera que toque el cadáver de dicho animal quedará contaminado hasta el anochecer.

28 Si alguien levanta el cadáver, deberá lavar su ropa, y permanecerá contaminado hasta el anochecer. Estos animales son impuros para ti.

29 »De los animales pequeños que corren por el suelo, estos serán impuros para ti: la rata-topo, la rata, los lagartos grandes de toda clase,

30 el geco, el varano, el lagarto común, la lagartija de arena y el camaleón.

INTRODUCTION TO LEVITICUS 11

This chapter treats of creatures clean and unclean, as fit or not fit to be eaten; and first of beasts, whose signs are given, Le 11:1-8 then of fishes, which are likewise described, Le 11:9-12 after that of fowls, and those that are not to be eaten are particularly named, Le 11:13-19 next of creeping things, which are distinguished into two sorts, as flying creeping things, of which those that are unclean, their carcasses are not even to be touched, as neither the carcasses of unclean beasts, Le 11:20-28 and creeping things on the earth, which defile by touching, as well as eating, and make everything unclean, upon which, being dead, they fall, Le 11:29-43 and these laws are enforced from the holiness and goodness of God, Le 11:44,45 and the chapter is concluded with a recapitulation of them, Le 11:46,47.
