And when he was called forth, Tertullusbegan to accuse him, saying, Seeing that bythee we enjoygreatquietness,and that very worthy deeds are done unto thisnationbythyprovidence,

Weaccept it always,and in all places, most nobleFelix,withallthankfulness.

Notwithstanding,that I benot*furthertedious unto thee, I praythee that thou wouldest hearus of thyclemency a few words.

For we have foundthisman a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jewsthroughout the world,and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:

Whoalso hath gone about to profane the temple*: whom we took, andwould have judgedaccording to ourlaw.

But the chief captainLysiascame upon us, and withgreatviolence took him away out ofourhands,

Commandinghisaccusers to comeuntothee: by examiningofwhomthyselfmayest take knowledgeofall these things,whereofweaccusehim.

And the Jewsalsoassented, saying that these thingswereso.

ThenPaul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast beenofmanyyears a judge unto thisnation, I do the more cheerfullyanswerformyself:

Because that thoumayestunderstand, that there are yet but*twelvedays*since*I went uptoJerusalem for to worship.

And they neitherfoundmein the templedisputingwith any man,neither raising up* the people*, neitherin the synagogues,norin the city:
