Apocalipsis 10:1-9

1 El ángel y el rollo pequeño
Entonces vi a otro ángel poderoso que descendía del cielo envuelto en una nube con un arco iris sobre su cabeza. Su cara brillaba como el sol, y sus pies eran como columnas de fuego.

2 En la mano tenía un rollo
pequeño que había sido abierto. Se paró con el pie derecho sobre el mar y el pie izquierdo sobre la tierra,

3 y dio un fuerte grito, como el rugido de un león. Y cuando gritó, los siete truenos respondieron.

4 Cuando hablaron los siete truenos, yo estuve a punto de escribir, pero oí una voz del cielo que decía: «Guarda en secreto
lo que los siete truenos dijeron y no lo escribas».

5 Entonces el ángel que vi de pie sobre el mar y sobre la tierra levantó la mano derecha hacia el cielo.

6 Hizo un juramento en el nombre de aquel que vive por siempre y para siempre, quien creó los cielos y todo lo que hay en ellos, la tierra y todo lo que hay en ella, y el mar y todo lo que hay en él. El ángel dijo: «Ya no habrá más demora.

7 Cuando el séptimo ángel toque su trompeta, el misterioso plan de Dios se cumplirá. Sucederá tal como él lo anunció a sus siervos los profetas».

8 Después la voz del cielo me habló de nuevo: «Ve y toma el rollo abierto de la mano del ángel, que está de pie sobre el mar y sobre la tierra».

9 Así que me acerqué al ángel y le dije que me diera el pequeño rollo. Él me dijo: «Sí, tómalo y cómelo. Será dulce como la miel en tu boca, ¡pero se volverá amargo en tu estómago!».

INTRODUCTION TO REVELATION 10

This chapter contains a vision of an angel of a wonderful appearance, the voices of the seven thunders, and an order to John to take the book in the hand of the angel, eat it, and prophesy. The angel is described by his strength, a mighty one; by his descent from heaven; by his attire, being clothed with a cloud; by a rainbow on his head; by his face being like the sun; by his feet, which were as pillars of fire, the one foot set on the sea, and the other on the earth; by having a little book open in his hand, and by the loud cry he made, like the roaring of a lion, Re 10:1-3, upon which seven thunders uttered their voices, which John was going to write, but was forbid, Re 10:4; next follows a solemn oath of the angers; the gesture he used, lifting up his hand to heaven; the person by whom he swore, the living God; what he swore to, that time should be no more, and that the mystery of God would be finished at the beginning of the seventh trumpet, Re 10:5-7; then several orders are given to John, as to take the open book in the hand of the angel, which he did, to eat it, as he accordingly did; when he found it to be as it was told him it would be, namely, sweet in his mouth, but bitter in his belly; and then to prophesy again before people, nations, tongues, and kings, Re 10:8-11.
