And he arose, and cametohisfather.But when he was yet a great wayoff, hisfathersawhim,and had compassion, andran, and fellonhisneck,andkissedhim.

And the sonsaid unto him,Father, I have sinnedagainstheaven,andinthysight,andam no moreworthy to be calledthyson.

But the fathersaidtohisservants, Bring forth the bestrobe,and put it onhim;andput a ringonhishand,andshoeson his feet:

And bring hither the fattedcalf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

Forthismysonwasdead,and is alive again*; he waslost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Nowhiseldersonwasin the field:andas he came and drew nigh to the house, he heardmusickanddancing.

And he calledone of the servants, and askedwhat these thingsmeant.

And he said unto him*, Thybrother is come; andthyfather hath killed the fattedcalf,because he hath receivedhim safe and sound.

And he was angry, andwouldnot go in: thereforecamehisfatherout, and intreatedhim.

And he answeringsaid to his father,Lo, these manyyears do I servethee,neither transgressed I at any timethycommandment:andyetthounevergavestme a kid,that I might make merrywithmyfriends:

But as soon asthisthyson was come, which hath devouredthylivingwithharlots, thou hast killed for him the fattedcalf.
