Nehemías 6:12-19

12 Y entendí que Dios no lo había enviado, sino que hablaba aquella profecía contra mí, porque Tobías y Sanbalat le habían alquilado por salario.

13 Porque fue sobornado para hacerme temer así, y que pecase, y les sirviera de mal nombre con que fuera yo infamado.

14 Acuérdate, Dios mío, de Tobías y de Sanbalat, conforme a estas obras suyos, y también de Noadías profetisa, y de los otros profetas que hacían por ponerme miedo.

15 Se terminó pues el muro el veinticinco del mes de Elul, en cincuenta y dos días.

16 Y cuando lo oyeron todos nuestros enemigos, temieron todos los gentiles que estaban en nuestros alrededores, y cayeron mucho en sus ojos, y conocieron que por nuestro Dios había sido hecha esta obra.

17 Asimismo en aquellos días iban muchas cartas de los principales de Judá a Tobías, y las de Tobías venían a ellos.

18 Porque muchos en Judá se habían conjurado con él, porque era yerno de Secanías hijo de Ara; y Johanán su hijo había tomado la hija de Mesulam, hijo de Berequías.

19 También contaban delante de mí sus buenas obras, y a él le referían mis palabras. Y enviaba Tobías cartas para atemorizarme.

Sanballat and his brethren, hearing the wall was finished, sent to Nehemiah, to have a meeting with him at a place named, which he refused, Ne 6:1,2, then they sent him a terrifying letter, suggesting that he, and the Jews with him, would be treated as rebels, since their intention, as reported, was to make him king, which letter he regarded not, Ne 6:3-9, then they employed some that pretended to be prophets to advise him to flee to the temple for safety, which he rejected, Ne 6:10-14 and so the work went on and was finished, though there was a secret correspondence carried on between their enemies and some false brethren among themselves, Ne 6:15-19.
