Provérbios 14:11-21

11 A casa dos ímpios será destruída,mas a tenda dos justos florescerá.

12 Há caminho que parece certo ao homem,mas no final conduz à morte.

13 Mesmo no riso o coração pode sofrer,e a alegria pode terminar em tristeza.

14 Os infiéis receberão a retribuição de sua conduta,mas o homem bom será recompensado.

15 O inexperiente acredita em qualquer coisa,mas o homem prudente vê bem onde pisa.

16 O sábio é cauteloso^[a] e evita o mal,mas o tolo é impetuoso e irresponsável.

17 Quem é irritadiço faz tolices,e o homem cheio de astúcias é odiado.

18 Os inexperientes herdam a insensatez,mas o conhecimento é a coroa dos prudentes.

19 Os maus se inclinarão diante dos homens de bem;e os ímpios, às portas da justiça.

20 Os pobres são evitados até por seus vizinhos,mas os amigos dos ricos são muitos.

21 Quem despreza o próximo comete pecado,mas como é feliz quem trata com bondade os necessitados!

INTRODUCTION TO FIRST KINGS 4

As in the preceding chapter we have a proof of the wisdom and understanding which the Lord gave to Solomon, as promised, so in this an account is given of the riches and honour he was possessed of; of him, as king over all Israel, and of his princes, 1Ki 4:1-6; of the providers of food for his household in the several parts of the land, 1Ki 4:7-19; of the largeness and extent of his dominions, and of the peace and prosperity thereof, 1Ki 4:20,21,24,25; of his daily provisions for his household and for his cattle, 1Ki 4:22,23,26-28; and of his superior wisdom and knowledge to all others in all nations, which brought some out of all to hear it, 1Ki 4:29-34.
