1 SU cimiento es en montes de santidad.

2 Ama Jehová las puertas de Sión Más que todas las moradas de Jacob.

3 Cosas ilustres son dichas de ti, Ciudad de Dios. (Selah.)

4 Yo me acordaré de Rahab y de Babilonia entre los que me conocen: He aquí Palestina, y Tiro, con Etiopía: Este nació allá.

5 Y de Sión se dirá: Este y aquél han nacido en ella; Y fortificarála el mismo Altísimo.

6 Jehová contará cuando se escribieren los pueblos: Este nació allí. (Selah.)

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 87

Whether this psalm was composed by David, in a view of the temple to be built by his son Solomon; or whether by one that returned from the Babylonish captivity, who wrote it for the comfort of those that wept at the laying of the foundation of the second temple; it seems evident that the subject matter of it is the church of God in Gospel times, and especially in the latter day glory: the title in the Syriac version is, ``concerning the redemption of Jerusalem.''
