It is mine to avenge;1 I will repay.2 In due time their foot will slip;3 their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.4"

The LORD will judge his people5 and have compassion6 on his servants7 when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave8 or free.

He will say: "Now where are their gods, the rock they took refuge in,938
the gods who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offerings?10 Let them rise up to help you! Let them give you shelter!

"See now that I myself am He!11 There is no god besides me.12 I put to death13 and I bring to life,14 I have wounded and I will heal,15 and no one can deliver out of my hand.1640
I lift my hand17 to heaven and declare: As surely as I live forever,1841
when I sharpen my flashing sword19 and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance20 on my adversaries and repay those who hate me.2142
