to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment1--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.211
In him we were also chosen,a having been predestined3 according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose4 of his will,

in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.513
And you also were included in Christ6 when you heard the word of truth,7 the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal,8 the promised Holy Spirit,914
who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance10 until the redemption11 of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.12

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus13 and your love for all the saints,1416
I have not stopped giving thanks for you,15 remembering you in my prayers.1617
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,17 may give you the Spiritb of wisdom18 and revelation, so that you may know him better.

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened19 in order that you may know the hope to which he has called20 you, the riches21 of his glorious inheritance22 in the saints,2319
and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power24 is like the working of his mighty strength,2520
which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead26 and seated him at his right hand27 in the heavenly realms,28
