Hosea 13:9-16 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
9 "You are destroyed, O Israel, because you are against me,1 against your helper.2 10 Where is your king,3 that he may save you? Where are your rulers in all your towns, of whom you said, 'Give me a king and princes'?4 11 So in my anger I gave you a king,5 and in my wrath I took him away.6 12 The guilt of Ephraim is stored up, his sins are kept on record.7 13 Pains as of a woman in childbirth8 come to him, but he is a child without wisdom; when the time9 arrives, he does not come to the opening of the womb.10 14 "I will ransom them from the power of the gravea;11 I will redeem them from death.12 Where, O death, are your plagues? Where, O grave,b is your destruction?13 "I will have no compassion, 15 even though he thrives14 among his brothers. An east wind15 from the LORD will come, blowing in from the desert; his spring will fail and his well dry up.16 His storehouse will be plundered17 of all its treasures. 16 The people of Samaria18 must bear their guilt,19 because they have rebelled20 against their God. They will fall by the sword;21 their little ones will be dashed22 to the ground, their pregnant women23 ripped open."
